Dr Sandy Limerick

Dr Sandy Limerick is a Faculty Member of ASHA Club. Sandy is also the owner and principal dentist at Cottage Dental Practice.

Sandy began her dental training at the University of Glasgow Dental School.
She graduated with Honours and was top of her class, being awarded the ‘most distinguished student’ in her year in 2002. She intercalated her dental degree with a 2-year Bachelor of Science degree in Pathology, graduating this degree with first class honours in 1999.

Following her graduation from Glasgow Dental School, Sandy began her dental career as a Vocational Trainee (VT) in an NHS practice in Rochdale in 2002, winning the Vocational Training prize for the North West of England
in 2003.

She then took up a one year position as Senior House Officer (SHO) in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at Wythenshawe Hospital, South Manchester NHS trust. During her time as an SHO Sandy studied and gained Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgery of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2005.

Sandy subsequently moved on to study a three year part-time Postgraduate Diploma (DPDS) in Dental Practice Studies including fixed and removable prosthodontics and oral surgery on the University of Bristol Postgraduate Dental Programme in 2010.

Sandy is also a qualified Implant Surgeon, with a Diploma in Implant Dentistry from the prestigious Royal College of Surgeons of England, she is one of very few women in
the world to do.

Sandy was most recently awarded a Master Degree in the field of research in Dental Implantology from the University Rey Juan Carlos, Madrid and is now studying
for a diploma in Digital Dentistry.

As well as delivering care to patients, Sandy also has a keen interest in empowering the next generation of dentists and spent four years from 2010 as an undergraduate clinical teaching fellow in Restorative Dentistry at Manchester Dental Hospital.

Sandy maintains her knowledge in implant and restorative dentistry by attending
courses in the UK and internationally.
